Choose your operating system

A full set of Linux and Windows operating systems, installed and ready when your server is handed over. Versions listed are those still in support; if you need an older release for a legacy application, ask and we will tell you what is possible.

AlmaLinux 9, 10

The community-driven successor to CentOS Linux, binary compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. This is what we recommend for cPanel, which officially supports it.

Ubuntu Server 22.04 LTS, 24.04 LTS

Widely used and familiar to most developers, with long-term support releases maintained for five years. A safe default for application servers and container hosts.

Debian 12, 13

Stable, conservative and packaged for almost everything. Popular where predictability matters more than having the newest version of each component.

Rocky Linux 9, 10

Another Red Hat compatible rebuild, and a straightforward choice if your team already standardises on it. Note that cPanel has deprecated Rocky, so pair it with a different panel or none.

CentOS Stream 9, 10

The rolling upstream of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Suitable for self-managed and Plesk setups; for cPanel choose AlmaLinux instead, as cPanel does not support Stream.

FreeBSD 13, 14

A long-established Unix system with ZFS and jails built in, favoured for storage, networking and firewall roles.

Windows Server Standard 2019, 2022, 2025

For .NET, MSSQL, Active Directory or anything else that needs the Microsoft stack. Licensing is charged on top, from £5.00/month.

Unmanaged servers come with out-of-band access, so you are free to install whatever you like. Tell us what you have in mind and we will confirm it will run on the hardware.

Make your Server Managed

We provide managed services to support your server when you order the cPanel control panel. As a cPanel partner we can offer competitive licence pricing, and our own team handles the day-to-day work, escalating to cPanel directly on your behalf when a problem turns out to be theirs.

cPanel needs a minimum of 2GB RAM and 20GB of disk, and recommends 4GB RAM and 40GB. Busier sites and heavier software will want more than that. We recommend AlmaLinux 9 or 10, which cPanel fully supports.

Yes, as soon as your server is racked and tested by our team you will be sent full root details. If you need scripts or software installed we are on hand to help 24/7.

Bandwidth overages are charged at 8p per GB excluding VAT, which is 10p per GB including VAT. If you are regularly going over, tell us and we will requote the allocation rather than let the overage run.

We can lease a ColdFusion license to any dedicated server. Please note that most of the time we will only be able to provide the very latest version from Adobe.

On average we are able to setup custom new servers within 1-4 business days but this does depend on the number of servers being racked at that time, our stock levels and the level of configuration. We will update you during the setup process of your new server to ensure you are kept in the loop. Servers listed with instant deploy will be automatically deployed and you will be notified of login details once the initial server OS install has been completed.

We provide managed dedicated server services when cPanel is selected as your control panel during the order process. This isn't a "fully managed" service though, you will have root access, but our team will be on hand to support you with any requests or issues. All VPS and dedicated server services are by default unmanaged and you will need to manage them yourself, however our team are always here to try andhelp with any issues you may have.
